Ooh, I loved “The Vanishing Half,” “Luster,” and “The Glass Hotel,” and I’m reading “Caste” now.. I feel like the absence of “Transcendent Kingdom” by Yaa Gyasi is a grievous oversight. Perhaps he hasn’t read it yet??. I was amazed when I read the statistics of how few Americans read any book at all.. Deacon Kong Kong is one of my faves for this year….actually anything by James McBride I have loved!!. I didn’t know you wrote books.I know you wrote promised land but didn’t know about the others what a great achievement.besides be a great president.I will look for your books. That’s 17 times more books than the current president has read in his whole life.. I’ve missed having a president who actually reads in the White House.. Where’s Michelle Obama’s book?
