Singular they is the use in English of the pronoun they or its inflected or derivative forms, them, their, theirs, and themselves (or themself), as an epicene (gender-neutral) singular pronoun. They is a perfectly acceptable singular pronoun. “They have left their coat” clearly refers to a single individual leaving a coat! Kinda sad you can’t understand basic English grammar.
